In August 1994, Bosai Minerals Group Co., Ltd. was founded in Chongqing, Southwest China. With its comprehensive portfolio of assets and operating experience, it takes the lead in China's reform and opening-up and is well known for its 20+ years' history of entrepreneurship, as well as for its professionalism in the development of aluminium and manganese products.
Today the total assets of Bosai Group achieved USD 1.7 billion, and annual sales reached above USD 4.3 billion. In the past two decades, Bosai Group built up a dedicated workforce consisting of 7500 employees, among whom 1200 are foreign nationals. With concerted efforts, they ensured the smooth operation of 14 large manufacturing and trading subsidiaries in Chongqing, Sichuan, Inner Mongolia, Germany, Ghana (West Africa), and Guyana (South America).
Currently, Bosai Group holds mining leases covering 300 million tonnes of premium bauxite reserves and 30 million tonnes of high-grade manganese reserves. It offers products from its mines, refineries and smelters to meet customer-specific needs around the globe, with its global distribution network strategically located in 30+ countries across Asia, Europe and America. Bosai's Calcined Bauxite and Brown Fused Alumina (BFA) have topped the world in both output and sales volume. Among Chinese authoritative rankings, Bosai Group has been listed as one of the top 500 China's private enterprises, top 500 China's manufacturing enterprises, top 50 China's non-ferrous metals industrial enterprises and top 10 private enterprises in Chongqing for consecutive years.
Bosai invests where it has a presence, collaborating with local governments and community leaders to understand local needs and develop appropriate solutions in a sustainable manner. To this day, the group has donated an accumulative total of USD 9+ million to the society.
