Ron joined China Hongqiao Group in January 2020, following 11 years as Secretary General of the International Aluminium Institute (London). Previous roles include Executive Director of the Australian Aluminium Council (2002 to 2008), Chief Executive of the World Coal Institute London (1997 to 2001) and senior positions with the Minerals Council of Australia (1987 to 1996). Prior to these appointments, Ron was an economist with the Australian Government (1976 to 1987). Ron is an Australian with a small beef cattle farm in Australia.

Ghana Bauxite Company (“GBC”) has been operating in Awaso, Ghana – West Africa since 1940 and produces premium bauxite with Al2O3 52%min and SiO2 1.5%max. Over the past decade, GBC has shipped 1.2 million tons per annum on average and with the ongoing mine expansion, production is expected to exceed 2.5 million tons per annum.

Jingxi Tiangui Aluminum Co., fully invested by Tianshan Aluminum Group, is located in Jingxi of Guangxi. The company launched alumina production in January of 2020, with the annual production capacity of 2.5 million tonnes, consisting of two high temperature dissolution production lines and one low temperature line, which depend on high concentration decomposition technology. By focusing on imported bauxite, they produce alumina which leads other producers in terms of technical and economical indexes.

Also worked as Geo-metallurgist in alumina refineries of India and Australia. Presently he is consultant to bauxite projects of Guinea and Sierra Leone namely Sierra Minerals Holding Ltd./VIMETCO, Axis Minerals / AGB2A, Canyon Resources and Rio Tinto Alcan. Dr. Nandi has about 40years experience of working in bauxite-alumina industry, research and development and geological-mining fields. Published more than 50 papers in the field of Bauxite-Alumina. He is JORC competent person and also Registered Specialist of ASI (Aluminium Stewardship Initiative).
