EIA pre-approval notice issued for Xianghualing Tin's concentrator upgrade project
On November 4, the Hunan Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment released a pre-approval public notice for the ecological environmental impact assessment (EIA) report of the 1,000tpd green and intelligent concentrator renovation and expansion project undertaken by Xianghualing Tin Industry Co., Ltd.
Located in Linwu County, Chenzhou City, Hunan Province, the project involves a total investment of RMB171.27 million (USD25.69 million).
Under the plan, the company will undergo partial structural and functional adjustments at its existing workshop I, alongside adding and upgrading equipment. Following the technical upgrade, workshop I will process 60,000 tonnes of raw tin ore and 30,000 tonnes of raw lead-zinc ore annually. Meanwhile, the old plant and equipment of workshop II will be demolished and rebuilt on the original site, equipped almost entirely with new machinery, with only a small amount of auxiliary facilities retained. After the expansion, workshop II will have an annual processing capacity of 210,000 tonnes of raw tin ore.
Additionally, the project will build a new tailings backfill system, through which all processing tailings will be backfilled into the underground mined-out areas.
