IMFA delivered the fincial and production results for Q2 FY27. During the period, ferro chrome production increased to 86,652 tonnes from 65,671 tonnes in the year-ago quarter. Sales rose to 81,998 tonnes from 69,765 tonnes.
Chrome ore raising stood at 144,697 tonnes during the quarter, compared with 169,615 tonnes a year earlier.
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated IMFA's greenfield project at Kalinganagar on October 14.
The first furnace is operational, and commissioning of the second furnace has commenced, with hot metal tapping expected soon.
The project will take the company's installed ferro chrome capacity to 534,000 tonnes per annum, reinforcing its position as India's largest producer of the alloy.
