Hainan unveils plan to achieve 100% green mines by 2030

On October 26, the CPC Hainan Provincial Committee and the Hainan Provincial People's Government issued the Opinions on Building an Ecologically Friendly Free Trade Port, calling for the green development and utilization of mineral resources.

The document outlines several key measures. The province will step up the upgrading and transformation of green, low-carbon technologies and equipment for mining, while strictly controlling fugitive dust and noise emissions during mining, transportation, and processing.

Hainan will comprehensively advance the construction of green mines, aiming to achieve a 100% green mine ratio among large and medium-sized producing mines by 2030. The province will also enhance the follow-up management, maintenance, and comprehensive utilization of mine ecological restoration, exploring a resource re-development model that integrates "mine ecological restoration with cultural tourism." Additionally, the government will push forward the digital and intelligent development of mining enterprises.
