Guangxi Aluminum starts production at carbon-based new materials project

On September 17, the first batch of pre-baked anodes rolled off the production line at a 60,000tpy carbon-based new materials project in the Pinglu Canal Economic Belt. The project was developed by Guangxi Aluminum Group, a subsidiary of Guangxi Investment Group, and is seen as a flagship aluminum industry initiative in the region.

The project's main product is pre-baked anodes for primary aluminum. Once fully operational, Guangxi Aluminum Group's carbon anode capacity for primary aluminum will reach 1.505 million tons, making it one of China's top three commercial anode producers and supporting about 3 million tons of primary aluminum output.
