South Korea moves to impose provisional AD duties on Chinese steel bars

South Korea has proposed provisional anti-dumping (AD) duties of 25.08% to 27.96% on Chinese steel bars supplied by Daye, Jiangsu Yonggang, and Jinteng.

The Korea Trade Commission (KTC) approved the protective measures at its 477th meeting, following an investigation launched in February at the request of SeAH Besteel and SeAH Changwon Integrated Special Steel.

Officials preliminarily found that dumped imports caused material injury to the domestic manufacturing sector, which relies on these materials for automotive and heavy construction equipment parts.

A final ruling is expected in February next year.
