EIA information issued for Ya'an lithium salt production base of CATL
On September 14, the Ya'an Economic and Technological Development Zone Management Committee published environmental impact assessment (EIA) information for the Ya'an lithium salt production base project of CATL.
The project is being developed by CATL (Ya'an) New Materials Technology Co., Ltd., with a total investment of RMB1.4 billion (USD208.61 million). It covers about 350 mu (roughly 23.3 hectares), with a main building area of approximately 130,000 square meters.
The company plans to purchase production and supporting equipment for lithium carbonate and lithium dihydrogen phosphate, and build production plants and ancillary facilities with annual capacities of about 40,000 tonnes of lithium carbonate, 30,000 tonnes of lithium dihydrogen phosphate, and 130,000 tonnes of anhydrous sodium sulfate.
