UK extends anti-dumping duties on Chinese wire rod imports for five more years
The UK government has accepted recommendations from the Trade Remedies Authority (TRA) to extend anti-dumping (AD) measures on wire rod originating in China for an additional five years, effective September 11, 2026.
The renewed duties will remain in force until January 28, 2031, replacing the previous notice parameters. The investigation concluded that removing the current restrictions would likely lead to continued or recurring dumping and harm to domestic manufacturing.
Under the extended framework, the applicable duty rates remain at 7.9% for the Valin Group and 24.0% for all other Chinese exporters.
The measures cover hot-rolled bars and rods in irregularly wound coils, made of iron, non-alloy steel, or alloy steel other than stainless steel, imported under commodity codes 72131000, 72132000, 72139110, 72139120, 72139141, 72139149, 72139170, 72139190, 72139910, 72139990, 72271000, 72272000, 72279010, 72279050, and 72279095.
