Energy report approved for Guangdong Youfa's metal products project

On September 9, the Guangdong Provincial Energy Bureau issued its review opinion on the energy conservation report for the Guangdong Youfa Metal Products Intelligent Manufacturing Project, agreeing to the report in principle.

Located in Jiujiang Town, Nanhai District, Foshan City, Guangdong Province, the project is invested in and built by Guangdong Youfa Pipe Industry Technology Co., Ltd. Total investment is about RMB2 billion (USD298.21 million). Phase I is expected to start production in March 2027, and Phase II in December 2027.

Phase I will include 5 slitting lines, 9 welded pipe lines, 4 hot-dip galvanizing lines, 4 spiral welded pipe lines, 1 plastic-coated pipe line, 1 3PE pipe line, 1 anti-corrosion pipe line, 2 T-welding units, 1 socket-and-spigot unit and supporting facilities. Phase II will include 1 hot-dip galvanizing line, 1 cold-rolled steel strip line, 1 annealing line and supporting facilities.

Once fully operational, Phase I is expected to produce 1.5 million tonnes of welded steel pipe, 600,000 tonnes of galvanized steel pipe, 200,000 tonnes of spiral steel pipe, 20,000 tonnes of plastic-coated steel pipe, 60,000 tonnes of 3PE steel pipe, 95,000 tonnes of anti-corrosion steel pipe, 25,000 tonnes of T-welded pipe and 10,000 tonnes of socket-and-spigot pipe per year. Phase II will produce 150,000 tonnes of galvanized steel pipe and 290,000 tonnes of cold-rolled steel strip per year.

Together, the two phases will reach an annual steel pipe production capacity of 2.95 million tonnes, of which 1.125 million tonnes will be intermediate products, leaving 1.825 million tonnes of final products for external sale.
