Wushan Copper Mine's phase III expansion project goes into official operation
On September 1, Jiangxi Copper Corporation Limited held a commissioning ceremony at its Wushan Copper Mine in Ruichang City to mark the official start of the phase III expansion project.
The project is designed to process 10,000 tonnes of ore per day, with an estimated service life of 24 years. Construction began on July 6, 2021, and the main works were completed by December 2025. In January 2026, the mine commenced full scale trial production at a rate of 8,000 tonnes per day, and by the end of June, it had reached its full capacity of 10,000 tonnes per day in both mining and processing.
Once fully ramped up, the mine will become the largest underground copper mine in Jiangxi Province and rank among the top five in China.
