Chengxin Lithium to invest in two African lithium sulfate projects
On August 24, Chengxin Lithium Group Co., Ltd. announced plans to build two lithium sulfate production facilities in Zimbabwe and Nigeria, with a combined estimated investment of USD476 million.
According to the company's official filing, a wholly owned indirect subsidiary will lead the Zimbabwe project, which is designed for a production capacity of 75,000tpy and carries a budget of approximately USD244 million. A separate indirect subsidiary will oversee the Nigerian venture, also targeting 75,000tpy, with an estimated cost of USD233 million. Both projects are expected to be completed within 19 months.
