EIA notice published for lithium-ion anode material expansion project of Huizhou BTR

On August 14, the Huizhou Municipal Ecology and Environment Bureau published the environmental impact assessment (EIA) acceptance notice for the 80,000tpy new-energy lithium-ion battery anode materials expansion project of Huizhou BTR New Materials Technology Co., Ltd.

The project, which represents a total investment of RMB440 million (USD65.44 million), is located at the company's existing site in Huyangkeng, Huangdong Village, Zhenlong Town, Huiyang District, Huizhou. Under the plan, a new A3 plant will be built on the vacant land to the west of the site's central axis and equipped with production lines. This will add production capacities of 40,000tpy of natural graphite specialty anode materials and 40,000tpy of synthetic graphite specialty anode materials for lithium ion batteries. In addition, the currently idle smaller A3 building will be converted into a pilot line for R&D and product testing.
