Guangxi Steel starts construction for phase II of 3800mm wide heavy plate line

On July 28, Guangxi Steel Group (Liuzhou Steel's Fangchenggang base) held a groundbreaking ceremony for the technical upgrade project of its 3800mm wide heavy plate production line – the phase II project covering the heat treatment line and the extra heavy plate area.

The phase II project will upgrade the heat treatment and extra heavy plate sections, completing the production chain from rolling to high end heat treatment. Upon completion, it will support the stable production of a wide range of high grade specialized steel products and significantly increase the share of high value added wide heavy plate offerings.

The phase I of the 3800mm wide heavy plate line was commissioned in November 2024 and has already become one of the group's flagship production lines.
