Yaxin Longshun Special Steel starts up 1,660m3 blast furnace

Inner Mongolia Yaxin Longshun Special Steel Co., Ltd. officially ignited its new 1,660 cubic meter blast furnace on July 24, marking the commissioning of a major upgrade project.

The RMB2 billion (USD295.47 million) transformation initiative involved dismantling two existing 630m3 restricted class blast furnaces and replacing them on the same site with a single modern 1,660m3 furnace and supporting facilities.

Once fully operational, the new furnace is expected to produce 1,430,000tpy of molten iron and create approximately 200 new jobs.
