HBIS Laoting Steel to build 5,600mm hot-rolled wide heavy plate production line

HBIS Company Limited announced on July 23 that its holding subsidiary, Laoting Steel, plans to invest RMB7,967 million (USD1,176 million) in the construction of a new 5,600mm hot-rolled wide heavy plate production line.

The project will be located within the existing plant site of HBIS Laoting Steel Co., Ltd. in the Laoting Economic Development Zone, Hebei Province. Once operational, the new line is expected to produce 2,420,000tpy of qualified finished products, with no net increase in overall steelmaking capacity.
