Abasca nearly doubles resource, upgrades category at Loki Graphite Project in Saskatchewan
Abasca Resources has significantly expanded and upgraded the resource estimate at its Loki flake graphite deposit in northern Saskatchewan, marking a major milestone as the company advances toward a preliminary economic assessment (PEA).
In an update released Tuesday, the company outlined 6.99 million indicated tonnes grading 8.27% graphitic carbon, containing 580,000 tonnes of the battery metal, alongside 15.83 million inferred tonnes grading 6.93% graphitic carbon for 1.1 million tonnes of graphite. This compares to the initial resource reported in April last year, which stood at 11.3 million inferred tonnes grading 7.65% graphitic carbon for 860,000 tonnes.
Loki's relatively high grade, strategic proximity to existing infrastructure, and growing indicated resource base could help distinguish the project as Abasca aims to complete its PEA within the coming months. The company is pursuing an aggressive development timeline, with a prefeasibility study targeted for late 2026, while environmental baseline work and other technical studies continue in parallel.
