South Korea launches anti-dumping probe into Chinese tinplate imports
The Korea Trade Commission (KTC) has initiated an anti-dumping investigation into tinplate imports originating from China, following a petition filed by domestic producers TCC Steel and Shinhwa Dynamics on June 19, 2026. The authority will examine potential dumping activities throughout 2025 and assess injury to the domestic industry over the period from 2022 to 2025.
The probe covers specific cold-rolled steel sheet products plated with tin, chromium, or chromium oxide, which fall under HS codes 7210.11.0000, 7210.12.0000, 7210.50.0000, 7212.10.1000, 7212.10.2000, and 7212.50.9000.
Interested parties are required to submit response documents within three weeks of the announcement. The KTC expects to issue a preliminary ruling within three months, with a possible two-month extension if warranted.
