Guizhou Dingshengxin's zinc-germanium new materials project lands in Hezhang
Recently, the People's Government of Hezhang County, Bijie City, Guizhou Province, signed an investment agreement with Guizhou Dingshengxin Zinc-Germanium New Materials Co., Ltd. for its green and intelligent zinc-germanium new materials manufacturing project.
Hezhang County is home to the Zhugongtang ultra-large lead-zinc deposit, which not only boasts abundant primary lead-zinc ore reserves but also holds strategic value due to its associated rare and precious metals, including germanium and silver, ensuring a stable supply of mineral raw materials.
The project represents a total investment of RMB5.5 billion (USD811.37 million). Upon completion, it will establish large-scale green smelting and new materials production capacity, achieving closed-loop resource utilization of by-products throughout the entire process. At full capacity, the project will produce 220,000tpy of zinc ingot--including 100,000tpy of high-end zinc alloy new materials for die-casting and galvanizing applications--alongside 80,000tpy of lead ingot. The facility will also recover high-value-added rare and precious metals such as germanium ingot, silver ingot, and refined cadmium, while supporting a sulfuric acid production line with an annual capacity of 580,000tpy. Once fully operational, the project is expected to drive the total annual output value of the regional lead-zinc industry chain to exceed RMB10 billion (USD1.48 billion).
