Heyu Aluminum secures energy conservation approval for aluminum rolling expansion project

On July 6, the Department of Economy and Information Technology of Sichuan Province issued its energy conservation review opinion on a 160,000tpy green and smart aluminum rolling production line technical upgrade and capacity expansion project of Sichuan Heyu Aluminum Co., Ltd., granting principle approval to the project's energy conservation report.

The project, located in the Baoxing Industrial Park in Yongxing Town, Mingshan District, Ya'an City, involves a total investment of RMB75 million (USD11.03 million) and is scheduled for completion within 18 months. The upgrade will see the existing aluminum rolling production line transformed and expanded: six 20-tonne melting furnaces will be dismantled and replaced with four 50-tonne aluminum melting furnaces. The company will retain its existing six 25-tonne gas-fired holding furnaces while adding two new 25-tonne electric holding furnaces, and will keep its six existing cast-rolling mills while introducing two new Ф960×1850 cast-rolling mills. Additionally, two new production lines and a dross-processing machine will be installed, bringing the plant's total capacity of aluminum rolling products to 160,000tpy.
