Construction completed for No.0 wharf of SPIC Guinea alumina project
Wharf No. 0 of the SPIC Guinea alumina project--undertaken by Shandong Electric Power Engineering Consulting Institute Co., Ltd. (SPEC) as the general contractor--has been completed and delivered, in just 72 days from the start of construction.
The SPIC Guinea alumina project represents a tangible outcome of the pragmatic cooperation between China and Guinea, following the important consensus reached during the bilateral meeting between the two heads of state on the sidelines of the 2024 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) Summit in Beijing. The project encompasses the mining of the northern bauxite block, the construction of an alumina refinery with a production capacity of 1,200,000tpy, and associated auxiliary facilities. Once fully operational, it will provide robust resource support for State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC) to drive the coordinated development of its aluminum industrial chain.
