China's copper cathode output grows 2.2% YoY in May

China's refined copper (copper cathode) production was around 1.26 million tonnes in May 2026, up by 2.2% YoY, and that of copper products decreased by 4.3% YoY to 2.06 million tonnes, according to the National Bureau of Statistics.

From January to May, China produced about 6.29 million tonnes of copper cathode, up by 6.1% over the prior year period, and 9.99 million tonnes of copper products, up by 2.6% versus a year ago.
