Xinchuang New Materials breaks ground on Phase II of lithium battery anode project

Ordos Xinchuang New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. officially commenced construction on Phase II of its 80,000-tonne-per-year integrated lithium-ion battery anode material project in Ordos, Inner Mongolia. With a total investment of RMB300 million (USD44.40 million), the new phase is scheduled for full completion and commissioning by June 2027.

Phase II entails the construction of a 30,000tpy graphitised anode material production line and a 40,000tpy pre-carbonisation anode material production line. Once operational, the expansion will fill a critical gap in the pre-carbonisation process--a key step in anode material manufacturing--hereby completing the company's full-industry-chain production capabilities and delivering a comprehensive upgrade in both capacity and process technology.

Construction is progressing at a rapid pace, with the 40,000tpy pre-carbonisation line running ahead of schedule. This segment is now expected to come on stream as early as October this year, adding 40,000 tonnes of annual pre-carbonised anode material capacity upon reaching full production.
