On June 13, 2026, Aluminum Corporation of China Limited (Chalco) officially broke ground on its new alumina project in Guinea.
With an investment of approximately USD1 billion, the project will build a production line with an annual capacity of 1.2 million tonnes of alumina. It marks a significant step in realizing Guinea's "Simandou 2040" strategic plan and is expected to give a strong boost to the country's industrialization and economic diversification.
