Fire breaks out at Tianqi Lithium's chemical-grade lithium concentrate plant in Australia

On June 9, Tianqi Lithium Corporation received a report from its holding subsidiary, Talison Lithium Pty Ltd, regarding a localized fire that occurred during maintenance at the Phase 3 chemical-grade lithium concentrate plant in Australia. The fire in the affected area was promptly and effectively extinguished, all personnel on site were safely evacuated, and no injuries were reported. While some equipment at the plant was damaged, the main facilities and production lines remained unaffected.

Following the incident, Talison immediately activated its emergency response plan and launched an investigation into the cause. This incident may affect the ramp-up progress of Talison's Phase 3 chemical-grade lithium concentrate plant. All other operational lithium concentrate plants at Talison continue to run normally.

At the end of 2025, Talison's Phase 3 chemical-grade lithium concentrate expansion project officially commenced trial production and feed-in. On January 30, 2026, the plant produced its first batch of standard-grade chemical-grade lithium concentrate.
