First batch of alumina shipped from eco-friendly aluminum project in Guangxi
The first batch of alumina products has been dispatched from Phase I of Guangtou Beihai eco-friendly aluminum project.
Developed by Guangxi Investment Group, this is Guangxi's first fully self-funded, self-constructed and self-operated alumina project. The overall investment totals about RMB50 billion (USD7.36 billion), with Phase I costing roughly RMB15.9 billion (USD2.34 billion). The complex encompasses alumina production lines, high-quality recycled aluminum facilities, advanced aluminum deep-processing units, alongside a dedicated 200,000t high-pile wharf.
In terms of supporting infrastructure, the project exclusive wharf passed official opening inspection in April 2026. As Guangxi's first 200,000t high-pile bulk cargo wharf, it accommodates large bauxite carriers from Guinea, securing steady raw material supplies. It realizes a seamless 300-meter linkage across mining, port and production zones, effectively cutting logistics costs and boosting transportation efficiency. The facility underpins large-scale, regular and intelligent production of the industrial park.
