Hengyitong receives approval to build rare earth metal project

Baotou Hengyitong Rare Earth Co., Ltd. has received the initial approval from the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region to build a 6,000tpa rare earth metal project.

The project will be located in the Baotou Kundulun Economic and Technological Development Zone in Inner Mongolia. It is designed to produce 6,000 tonnes of rare earth metals annually, including 2,000 tonnes of PrNd metal, 1,000 tonnes of LaCe metal, 2,000 tonnes of cerium metal and 1,000 tonnes of lanthanum metal.

Construction will involve using the company's existing production workshops to build a 6,000 tpa rare earth metal production line along with supporting utilities and infrastructure.

The total investment is RMB57.26 million (USD8.41 million), all of which will be funded by the company itself. It is expected to take 24 months to complete construction.
