Hunan Gold Corporation Limited recently announced that its subsidiary, Hunan Anhua Zhazixi Mining Co., Ltd., will resume production starting May 20, 2026. Based on a preliminary estimate by the company's asset and finance department, the production suspension at Anhua Zhazixi is expected to reduce the company's net profit for the current period by approximately RMB35 million (USD5.14 million).
The company had previously disclosed on April 25, 2026, an employee of Hunan Xincheng Mining Co., Ltd.'s Anhua Branch, a contractor responsible for excavation work at the Zhazixi mine, was killed in a roof fall while clearing slag in the western cross-cut of the -115 thick and large ore body. Following the accident, Anhua Zhazixi voluntarily suspended operations for safety rectification.
