Australia imposes countervailing duties on steel corner beads and angles from China
The Australian Anti-Dumping Commission has concluded a subsidy investigation into steel corner beads and angles imported from China. Non-cooperative exporters and all other Chinese producers will face a countervailing duty of 4.5%.
The ruling applies to products under customs codes 7216.61.00.57, 7216.69.00.58, 7216.91.00.59, 7216.99.00.60, and 7308.90.00.53. The measures exclude plastic and stainless steel corner beads, as well as external render or texture beads.
The investigation was initiated in May 2025 following a petition filed by Rondo Building Services Pty Ltd. To assess the impact on the domestic market, the authority reviewed the subsidy period from July 1, 2023, to June 30, 2024, with the injury examination period dating back to July 1, 2020.
