Canada launches expiry reviews on rebar from nine countries

The Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) has announced the initiation of expiry reviews concerning the anti?dumping duties applied to certain steel reinforcing bar (rebar) originating from Algeria, Egypt, Indonesia, Italy, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Oman, and Russia.

The Tribunal is scheduled to issue its determination no later than September 17, 2026, and will release a full statement of reasons by October 2, 2026. The review will assess whether the expiration of the existing orders is likely to lead to the continuation or resumption of dumping of the subject goods.

The current dumping margins for the product in question are as follows:
Algeria: 20.3%
Egypt, Italy, Malaysia, Singapore, and Vietnam: 23.1%
Indonesia: 21.8%
Oman: 8%
Russia: 45.0%
