Golden Dragon Rare Earth launches Phase II NdFeB magnet project
On April 24, Golden Dragon Rare Earth New Materials (Baotou) Co., Ltd. broke ground on the Phase II expansion of its high-performance NdFeB magnet project, adding 5,000tpa of advanced manufacturing capacity.
The company, located in the Rare Earth High-Tech Industrial Development Zone in Baotou, is a subsidiary of Xiamen Tungsten Co., Ltd. and wholly owned by Golden Dragon Rare Earth Co., Ltd. Its Phase I project, also with a capacity of 5,000 tonnes of high-performance NdFeB magnets, entered trial production in September 2025 and has since reached full operational capacity. Phase II is targeted to begin trial production by this December.
The new phase will deploy six proprietary core technologies alongside five in-house developed equipment systems and automation solutions. The project aims to establish a fully integrated, end-to-end automated production system, enabling streamlined processes, improved efficiency, and low-carbon, environmentally friendly manufacturing.
