United Solar Holdings Starts Production at 100,000 MT Polysilicon Facility in Oman

United Solar Holdings (USP) has successfully produced the first batch of polysilicon at its new plant located in Oman's Sohar Port and Free Zone. Supported by a $1.6 billion investment, with backing from the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the Oman Investment Authority, the facility is expected to reach full production capacity by the end of 2026.

As the largest solar-grade polysilicon plant outside of China, the facility is capable of supporting approximately 40 GW of solar module production per year. It offers a strategic, high-volume source of polysilicon for solar manufacturers around the world.
