On April 22, the Phase I project of Hubei Ruipai New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (Rep Tech), a 50,000-tonne-per-year lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cathode material recycling project, officially commenced operations in Xiangcheng Economic Development Zone.
With a total investment of RMB2 billion (USD293 million), the project adopts an integrated "wet recycling + cathode synthesis" process, enabling efficient recovery of lithium, phosphorus, and iron from spent batteries and their conversion into high-performance LFP cathode materials.
Following the ramp-up of Phase I, Phase II construction will be launched in line with market demand. The project fills a gap in Xiangyang's local new energy materials recycling sector, further strengthening the city's position as a national new energy vehicle industry hub.
