HYDREXIA's magnesium-based hydrogen storage products make first maritime shipment
On March 12, the first batch of magnesium-based solid-state hydrogen storage products developed by Shanghai Hydrogen Propulsion Technology Co., Ltd. (HYDREXIA) was shipped from the Phase IV terminal of Shanghai Waigaoqiao Port to a customer in Malaysia, marking a new step in taking China's hydrogen storage and transport solutions overseas.
The system stores hydrogen in solid form by converting hydrogen and the magnesium alloy inside the tank into metal hydrides. After hydrogen is released overseas, the tanks can be shipped back and reused, enabling an innovative "solid-state transport" model for hydrogen exports.
The commercial shipment opens an international channel for exporting magnesium-based solid-state hydrogen storage products and offers a new approach for global hydrogen transportation, marking the technology's entry into the international market.
