Chongqing Minfeng to launch chromium-titanium materials relocation project
Chongqing Minfeng Chemical Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hubei Zhenhua Chemical Co., Ltd., plans to invest about RMB3 billion (USD430 million) in a green and smart manufacturing relocation project for chromium and titanium new materials. The company has received board approval to sign an investment agreement with the Management Committee of Chongqing Tongnan High-Tech Industrial Development Zone, where the project will be relocated.
With a land area of roughly 706Mu (47.07 hectares), the project will include facilities for 200,000tpa of chromium compounds, 500,000tpa of sulfuric acid, 50,000tpa of chromium powder, 74,000tpa of chromium oxide green, 200,000tpa of chromium slag recycling, as well as specialty new materials.
Chongqing Minfeng's existing plant has production capacities of 100,000tpa of chromium salts, 1,000tpa of vanadium pentoxide, and 300,000tpa of sulfuric acid, and is currently operating in good condition.
