Jianshui inks deal for recycled copper, high-purity indium projects

A signing ceremony was recently held in Kunming for a 403-million-yuan (56.64 million US dollars) project involving the National Engineering Research Center for Vacuum Metallurgy, the Jianshui county government, and Kunming Dingbang Technology Co., Ltd. The project will be located in Jianshui and is expected to advance the local non-ferrous metals industry toward higher-tech, higher-value production.

The partnership brings together academic research strengths, corporate technological capabilities, and local industry resources. Under the agreement, the three sides will develop three key projects, including a 50,000tpa recycled copper facility, a 200tpa high-purity indium plant, and a 3,000tpa metal-matrix composites project. Once fully operational, the projects are expected to generate about 4.2 billion yuan (590 million US dollars) in annual output value.
