Qinghai Huiyuan kicks off green aluminum sheet and foil project

On October 16, Qinghai Huiyuan New Materials Co., Ltd. broke ground on its 200,000tpa green high-performance aluminum sheet, strip, and foil project in Beichuan Industrial Park of Datong County, Qinghai Province. The project site is strategically located near Chinalco Qinghai Branch and the Qiaotou Power Plant, offering strong logistical advantages.

Covering 154,597 square meters, the project will take about 24 months to complete, with a total investment estimated at RMB1.77 billion (USD248 million). It is designed to produce 200,000 tonnes of aluminum sheet, strip, and foil annually, mainly single-zero aluminum foil in alloy grades such as 1230, 8011, and 1100, with thicknesses ranging from 0.01 to 0.2mm and widths from 300 to 1,470mm.

The project includes two main production facilities, a cast rolling workshop and a rolling workshop, along with supporting and administrative buildings. Feasibility studies have been completed, and preliminary work is well underway. Once operational, it will serve as a major aluminum processing base in Qinghai, strengthening the local industry chain and boosting product value.
