China's aluminum alloy output up 15.3% YoY in Jan-Aug

In August 2025, China produced about 7.93 million tonnes of alumina, up by 7.5% YoY, 3.8 million tonnes of primary aluminum, down slightly by 0.5% YoY, 1.64 million tonnes of aluminum alloy, up by 15.2% YoY, and 5.55 million tonnes of aluminum products, down by 4.2% YoY, according to the National Bureau of Statistics.

From January to August, China's alumina output totaled 60.52 million tonnes, up by 8.2% YoY, primary aluminum production reached 30.14 million tonnes, up by 2.2% YoY, aluminum alloy output increased further by 15.3% YoY to 12.32 million tonnes, and aluminum products output kept stable from the prior year period at 43.79 million tonnes.
