Meizhou Shengning's copper rod project to gain EIA approval

Meizhou Municipal Ecological and Environment Bureau has announced its intention to approve the environmental impact assessment (EIA) for a copper rolling, deep processing, and packaging project by Shengning (Meizhou) New Materials Technology Co., Ltd.

According to the EIA, the project, to be located in Meizhou High-tech Industrial Park, will install an upward continuous casting line, a 400mm continuous extruder, air compressors, and other equipment. Once completed, it is expected to produce 24,000 tonnes of 8.0mm copper rod and 6,000 tonnes of phosphor copper ball annually. The total investment for the project is estimated at RMB50 million (USD7.02 million), including RMB2 million (USD280,858) for environmental protection.
