Fugu's Jan-May magnesium production down 3.25% YoY

China's Fugu county reported a total output value from industrial enterprises above designated size of RMB44.32 billion (USD6.18 billion) in the first five months of 2025, down by 8.7% from the prior year period, with the added value of industrial enterprises above designated size up by 12%, according to the local statistics bureau.

From January to May, Fugu produced about 38.94 million tonnes of raw coal, up by 0.47% YoY, 6.53 million tonnes of washed coal, up by 9.85% YoY, 2.83 million tonnes of semi-coke, down by 22.34% YoY, 118,800 tonnes of calcium carbide, down by 12.2% YoY, 278,400 tonnes of ferroalloys, up by 2.13% YoY, and 202,600 tonnes of magnesium metal, down by 3.25% YoY.
