China's trade with Africa hits new high in Jan-May
China's trade with African countries hit a record high of 963.21 billion yuan (134 billion US dollars) in the first five months of 2025, up by 12.4% year-on-year and accounting for 5.4% of the country's total foreign trade, according to the General Administration of Customs.
In January-May, China's exports to Africa rose by 20.2% from a year ago to 599.57 billion yuan (83.41 billion US dollars), while its imports increased by 1.6% to 363.64 billion yuan (50.59 billion US dollars).
