The Department of Natural Resources of Shanxi Province recently announced a public notice regarding the establishment of mining rights for the Baitupo and Xiaoyangou bauxite deposits by Yangmei Group Yuxian Bauxite Mine Co., Ltd. The public consultation period runs from May 13 to May 26, 2025.
The applicant, Yangmei Group Yu County Bauxite Mine Co., Ltd., is seeking to establish new mining rights for both deposits, located in Yuxian County, Yangquan City, Shanxi Province.
The Xiaoyangou Bauxite Mine covers an area of 19.48 square kilometers and will be developed using a combination of open-pit and underground mining methods. The permitted minerals include bauxite, hard refractory clay, Shanxi-type iron ore, and gallium, with a planned production capacity of 300,000 tonnes per annum.
The Baitupo Bauxite Mine covers 28.17 square kilometers, also employing both open-pit and underground mining methods. The targeted minerals include bauxite, hard refractory clay, and gallium, with the same planned production capacity of 300,000 tonnes per year.
