Major Chinese steel mills' daily steel product output declines in early Jan

Major Chinese steel mills produced around 18.99 million tonnes of finished steel products during the first ten-day period of January 2025, when the daily output was 1,899,000 tonnes, down by 3.9% from late December 2024, according to China Iron & Steel Association (CISA).

By the end of the period, major Chinese steel mills held finished steel products inventory of around 12.59 million tonnes, up by 220,000 tonnes or 1.8% from late December 2024.
