In September 2024, China produced 66.76 million tonnes of pig iron, down by 6.7% YoY, 77.07 million tonnes of crude steel, down by 6.1% YoY, and 117.31 million tonnes of finished steel products, down by 2.4% YoY, according to the National Bureau of Statistics.
In the first three quarters, the country's production of pig iron declined by 4.6% YoY to 644.43 million tonnes, crude steel production decreased by 3.6% YoY to 768.48 million tonnes, and finished steel products production edged down by 0.1% YoY to 1,044.48 million tonnes.
