Fusion Enertech begins production at Li-ion adsorbent plant in Zhuhai
Juneng Yongtuo (Zhuhai) Technology Development Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Fusion Enertech, commenced production at its 5,000tpa Li-ion adsorbent plant on September 20.
With a total investment of around RMB500 million (USD70.97 million), the plant started trial production in June 2024 and its No.1 production line reached full capacity of 2,500tpa in August. The No.2 production line, also with a production capacity of 2,500tpa, is expected to become fully operational this October, when the project would be able to produce 5,000tpa of Lithium-ion Enrichment Material (LiEM) used for extracting lithium from brine, with a recovery rate of more than 95%.
The company said LiEM can be used for lithium extraction from more than 90% of the world's brine resources, including high magnesium/lithium ratio salt lake brine in Northwestern China, high sodium/lithium ratio salt lake brine in South America, and oil and gas associated brine in Russia.
