In July 2024, China produced 71.4 million tonnes of pig iron, down by 8% YoY, 82.94 million tonnes of crude steel, down by 9% YoY, and 114.36 million tonnes of finished steel products, down by 4% YoY, according to the National Bureau of Statistics.
From January to July, the country's production of pig iron declined by 3.7% YoY to 509.68 million tonnes, crude steel production shrank by 2.2% YoY to 613.72 million tonnes, and finished steel products production increased by 1.3% YoY to 813.41 million tonnes.
