Baogang declares mineral wastes 'not for sale' from Bayan Obo mine

Baotou Steel (Group) Co., Ltd. (Baogang) said in a statement that mineral wastes, including waste rocks and slimes from tailings dams at Bayan Obo mining district are not allowed for sale, which is strictly in accordance with China's rare earth regulations aimed at protecting the strategically important resources.

As the sole owner of Bayan Obo mine, the company declares that it has never sold any waste rocks and slimes from the Bayan Obo mining district.

Located in Inner Mongolia, the Bayan Obo mine is an important production base for strategic mineral resources, including iron ore and rare earth.
