Baotou's H1 rare earth metals production up by 32.3% YoY
Baotou achieved a 15.3% increase in industrial added value above the designated size for the first half of 2024, recording a two-digit growth for over 46 consecutive months, with the rare earth sector contributing a 32.6% rise in industrial added value, coupled with the increases of 3.7% in mining industry, 1.2% in iron and steel industry, 8.5% in aluminum industry and 31.6% in crystalline silicon industry, according to official data.
In the first half of this year, the production of major products in Baotou increased, of which monocrystalline silicon jumped by 87.9%, polysilicon rose by 81.8%, rare earth ore increased by 0.6%, and single rare earth metals increased by 32.3%, iron ore concentrate increased by 110.2%, and aluminum products increased by 2.9%, all compared with the prior year period.
