China's H1 foreign trade again hits new high

In the first half of 2024, China's total import and export of goods exceeded the 21-trillion-yuan mark for the first time, rising by 6.1% year on year to 21.17 trillion yuan (2.98 trillion U.S. dollars), including exports of 12.13 trillion yuan (1.71 trillion U.S. dollars), up by 6.9% YoY, and imports of 9.04 trillion yuan (1.27 trillion U.S. dollars), up by 5.2% YoY, with trade surplus widening by 12% to 3.09 trillion yuan (435 billion U.S. dollars), according to China Customs.
