Xinjiang Qiya breaks ground on phase two silicon metal project

Xinjiang Qiya Silicon Metal Co., Ltd. has started construction of the second phase of its silicon metal project in Zhundong, Xinjiang, bringing the company one step closer to building a large-scale and competitive circular economy new material industry project that integrates coal, electricity and silicon.

With a total investment of around RMB5.45 billion (USD751 million), Xinjiang Qiya's 400,000tpa silicon metal project includes two phases, each with a production capacity of 200,000tpa and a construction period of 18 months. The company began construction of the 100,000tpa production lines of the first phase on March 1, 2023.
